QuAMP – the International Conference on Quantum, Atomic, Molecular and Plasma Physics – is the première UK conference devoted to these areas of physics. Elliot Scientific is exhibiting on Tuesday and Wednesday (September 5th and 6th) next week. The event is being held at the Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel.

QuAMP covers quantum information and technology, quantum optics, ultra-cold matter, the interaction of light with molecules and plasmas. The format of the biennial conference comprises plenary talks by invited speakers as well as some contributed talks and posters.

Elliot Scientific will be showing products from Vescent Photonics, Lake Shore Cryotronics, and others.

UHP-T-MP: Excellent for Optogenetics/fluorescence excitation in microplate applications

batch5-057The UHP-T-MP series of Ultra High Power LEDs, by Prizmatix, feature a powerful rectangular (3:4) homogeneous collimated beam useful in many demanding applications such as direct microplate illumination without a light guide, fluorescence microscopy and machine vision.

Optimal illumination of standard 96 well microplates from a working distance of about 40 cm is realised by its aspheric optics, and the USB-equipped LED controller supports CW or pulsed operation via a TTL trigger. LED intensity can be set via a pot or external analogue voltage input.

The UHP-T-MP is available in blue – 455 nm, green – 528 nm or red – 630 nm wavelengths, and can be used coupled to an optical fibre or liquid light guide, or just as a collimated light source.

Key features

  • Single chip Ultra High Brightness LED
  • Precisely adjustable, stable power
  • 3:4 aspect ratio
  • CW or pulsed operation
  • USB interface
  • Long life (no consumable parts)

Ultra-high Resolution Raman Spectroscopy from CRAIC Technologies’ Artemis™ System

Craic Technologies ArtemisUltra-high resolution Raman microspectroscopy is now available throughout the UK and Ireland as Elliot Scientific introduces the CRAIC Artemis™ Raman Spectrometer – available as an add-on for modern research grade microscopes, or as an option for CRAIC’s existing range of UV-Vis-NIR Microspectrophotometers.

Perfect for research, metrology and quality control, the CRAIC Artemis™ Raman system has been designed specifically for microscopic sample. Its patented virtual slit technology dramatically increases the sensitivity of the spectrometer, offers an extraordinarily large spectral range, yet maintains the high speeds and spectral resolution for which CRAIC microspectrometers are known.

The Artemis™ modules are available in many different laser wavelengths and two can be combined for the ultimate in experimental flexibility. Easy to use and economical to own and operate, they enable rapid sample analysis within life sciences, materials science, chemistry and physics.

Each module includes a choice of diode laser, imaging and microscope optical interface, durable solid-state Raman spectrometer, and software from CRAIC – the experts in microspectroscopy.

Lake Shore Model 350 Ultra-low Cryogenic Temperature Controller now available

Lake Shore announced their new ultra-low cryogenic temperature controller – the Model 350 – back in February, but now the physics community can actually start to receive their orders as the first models roll off the production line in Westerville. The Model 350 is designed for the demands of pumped He-3 refrigerators, adiabatic demagnetization refrigerators (ADRs) and a number of other dilution refrigerators, providing excellent measurement performance, superior control accuracy, and convenient operation for a wide range of advanced research applications.

Patented noise reduction input circuitry is just one reason why this controller works so well for ultra-low temperature (ULT) applications, all the way down to 100 mK. When combined with precision Cernox sensors, this performance-optimised design allows as little as 10 nA of excitation current to be used, minimising self-heating effects, and ensures best possible measurement accuracy throughout the entire temperature range. The instrument offers extraordinary capability and flexibility, often eliminating the need for additional instrumentation in a refrigeration control system. Its four input channels and four independent control outputs are configurable to support a broad range of I/O requirements, including the heaters and auxiliary devices typical of ULT refrigeration systems, as well as other cryogenic sensor types like ruthenium oxide and platinum RTDs.

For more information and pricing of this and other equipment in the Lake Shore range, please contact us.
