Got the shakes? Our vibration isolation systems should calm things down.

Vibration noise is a nuisance for many precision applications in science and industry. Passing road, rail or air traffic, building resonances, co-workers,  air conditioning, lifts and other machinery and equipment all pose a threat to your sensitive instruments. This could be a high-powered microscope, a delicate micromachining system, a life science experiment, or a laser-based optical set-up.

Elliot Scientific offers a choice of both passive and active vibration isolation systems from leading manufacturers for your application. Whether you require a simple benchtop platform, an optical table, workstation, or custom system, we can help.

We also supply Hi-Fi audiophiles with affordable antivibration solutions for decoupling high-end turntables so as to get the most from their vinyl.

Siskiyou add to IXF range with single axis platforms and mounts

Siskiyou Corporation continually develop their popular series of IXF mounts, the latest additions being single axis platforms and mirror mounts.

Mirror Mounts
The new IXF SA series single axis mirror mounts for optics in the 12.7 to 50.8 mm (½” to 2″) diameter range for OEMs. A variety of mounting configurations are available, including bulkhead placement with either front or rear (through the bulkhead) adjustment options, making the mounts particularly useful for space constrained applications. The mounts are currently available in both steel and aluminium versions.

Platforms
Two IXF-based platforms, each containing an arrangement of both threaded and clearance M4 (or 8-32) holes on both sides, are now available. The IXF.05S is a single-axis ½” square flexure with one M4 (8-32) tapped hole for mounting, as well as one on the top for attachment. The IXF1.0S is a larger 1″ square version with seven tapped and two counterbored holes.

Aluminium, stainless or nickel-plated steel
The IXF series offer exceptional stability at a low price point. Performance is achieved through the use of monolithic flexure construction, in which the entire mount – both plates and springs – are fabricated from a single piece of aluminium, stainless or nickel-plated steel.

Steel construction offers superior mechanical and thermal stability, while aluminium confers lower weight and vacuum compatibility.

RM21™ Platform Offers Precision Framework for Custom Microscopy

Microscope Platform for the FutureThe RM21™, from Mad City Labs, is a precision microscope platform designed for maximum user accessibility. Its three dimensional space makes it the perfect framework for constructing custom microscopy instruments that require a flexible configuration. As all posts and fixturing points are referenced to a known datum, the microscopy and optical components used in the experiment are easily aligned.

Advanced applications, such as super resolution (SR) microscopy, fluorescence microscopy and TIRF, will all benefit from the RM21’s thoughtful design and robust construction. From now on, microscopy projects can leave the flat optical table for a 3D future. Contact us for more details about the RM21 and Elliot Scientific’s Lab Essentials range of optical fixtures and fittings.
