Rugged Monitoring reveal new OEM fibre optic temperature sensor module

Rugged Monitoring has developed the O201 as a compact din-rail mounted standalone module for OEMs that can be easily installed in equipment that requires fibre optic temperature sensing.
Based on proven Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) technology, this multi-channel temperature monitor is available in 2, 4, 6 or 8 channels. Up to thirty-two O201 units can be daisy-chained via Modbus, CANBUS or DNP3.0 to construct a 256 channel monitoring system.
Delivering higher accuracy (0.2 °C, relative) and 100% repeatability over a wide measurement range (-269 °C to +300 °C), the O201 monitor does not need calibration or curve matching compensation when measuring temperature in harsh conditions such as EMI, RFI, microwave and high voltage environments.
The O201 has a single ‘system fault’ relay, and an option for an integrated analogue card (up to 8 channels) for outputting measurements as current / voltage levels.
The module is compatible with a wide range of fibre optic temperature sensors from both Rugged Monitoring and other companies. For more information, please contact us.
Siskiyou add to IXF range with single axis platforms and mounts

Siskiyou Corporation continually develop their popular series of IXF mounts, the latest additions being single axis platforms and mirror mounts.
Mirror Mounts
The new IXF SA series single axis mirror mounts for optics in the 12.7 to 50.8 mm (½” to 2″) diameter range for OEMs. A variety of mounting configurations are available, including bulkhead placement with either front or rear (through the bulkhead) adjustment options, making the mounts particularly useful for space constrained applications. The mounts are currently available in both steel and aluminium versions.
Platforms
Two IXF-based platforms, each containing an arrangement of both threaded and clearance M4 (or 8-32) holes on both sides, are now available. The IXF.05S is a single-axis ½” square flexure with one M4 (8-32) tapped hole for mounting, as well as one on the top for attachment. The IXF1.0S is a larger 1″ square version with seven tapped and two counterbored holes.
Aluminium, stainless or nickel-plated steel
The IXF series offer exceptional stability at a low price point. Performance is achieved through the use of monolithic flexure construction, in which the entire mount – both plates and springs – are fabricated from a single piece of aluminium, stainless or nickel-plated steel.
Steel construction offers superior mechanical and thermal stability, while aluminium confers lower weight and vacuum compatibility.

EQ-400 Laser-Driven Light Source from Energetiq sparks OEM interest

Energetiq’s newly introduced EQ-400 high power, ultra-bright Laser-Driven Light Source (LDLS™) is beginning to garner interest among semicon OEMs in the UK and Ireland.
Based on the existing and highly successful LDLS™ series, the EQ-400 offers the highest radiance and irradiance available in a true broadband white light source. The EQ-400 features a compact lamp housing built with clean construction techniques to ensure long lamp life and stability. With a 170-2100 nm wavelength range, and a choice of dual-beam output or higher power single-beam output with retro-reflector, the EQ-400 is suitable for a wide variety of applications.
- High spectral radiance: > 100 mW/mm2.sr.nm from 100 µm aperture
- Spectral power: > 10 mW/nm from a 500 µm aperture
- Very low noise: < 0.02%
- Small plasma: 300 x 800 µm FWHM
If you have an OEM application that requires stable and ultra-bright illumination, please contact us as we have the solution.
Micro Laser Systems offer Stabilised Free Space Lasers and Fibre Collimators
Micro Laser Systems offer their OEM range of high performance Lepton IV free space lasers in both standard and wavelength stabilised versions. The modules are ideal for existing and new applications in a variety of fields such as microscopy, spectroscopy, material characterisation and analysis, scanners and sensors, correlators, interferometers, microlithography, reprographics, flow cytometry, ophthalmology, dermatology, atomic clocks, laser pumps, and telecoms.
Over 30 different laser wavelengths are available with diffraction-limited circular Gaussian beams ranging from 1 mm to 6 mm in diameter, and single transverse and longitudinal modes. Wavelengths range from 375 to 1600 nm, and powers up to 150 mW are available.
Fibre collimators are of increasing importance to the company’s product line-up. The FC Series of collimators are designed specifically for singlemode fibre, polarisation maintaining fibre and fibre laser applications that can generate a pure Gaussian beam. Aperture sizes from 5 to 45 mm are available with a very clean output and no diffraction patterns or beam distortions. The output stays Gaussian no matter the distance and the adjustable output is ideal for tuning the desired wavelength to the best collimation.
Three wavelength regions cover from 375 to 2000 nm for use with Ar, YAG, Ti-Sapphire, HeNe, DPSS, and any commercially available fibre coupled diode laser.

New Single and Multi-Channel Laser Modules from AKELA
AKELA Laser Corp. are now offering single and multi-channel laser diode modules in a variety of wavelengths from 635 to 1950 nm. These new modules offer integrated cooling and drive electronics for plug-and-play use, and can be configured using either a USB port or by external voltages.
Specifically designed for 100 micron, 0.22NA fibres and providing pulsed or CW up to 2 Watts per channel, they offer several different emergency shut-off options and are eminently suitable for both R&D and OEM applications.
Higher power levels will shortly become available as well as modules designed for the medical market with built-in accessories such as photodetectors, aiming beams, blast shields, and fibre sensors.
The laser modules are available in the following configurations: single channel; multi-channel with independently addressable outputs; and multiple outputs controlled by a single driver.

AKELA Laser Corporation introduces new Configurable Modules plus powerful Red, NIR, and IR Diodes

AKELA Laser Corporation has released single and multi-channel laser diode modules in wavelengths from 635 to 1950 nm, part of a phased introduction of a new range for 2013.
The laser diode modules, designed for 0.22 na 100, 200 and 400 micron fibres – or free space use – and providing up to 25 Watts CW power, are ideal for research and development.
Equipped with integrated cooling and drive electronics for plug-and-play use, the modules are available in the following configurations: single channel; multi-channel with independently addressable outputs; and multiple outputs controlled by a single driver.
This new unit from AKELA is the most versatile and configurable diode laser module on the market today. With its individually addressable emitters, the module can operate at up to five wavelengths from one fibre, making it convenient for use in R&D settings. It fits standard high-power thermoelectric systems, making integration easier, and meets stringent industrial and medical requirements.
Further development of these new modules will offer increasingly higher power levels as well as built-in accessories such as photodetectors, aiming beams, blast shields, and fibre sensors.
