We would like to say a big thank you to the people who visited our booth at Photonics West 2019 and met with Dr. Adrian Knowles in his new role as Elliot Scientific’s Managing Director. You certainly made it a successful event all round for both him and us.
Many visitors were impressed by our Elliot|Martock compact stage portfolio. These precision engineered dovetail slides are offered in a range of sizes and travels, delivering smooth backlash-free motion in X, XY, XZ, YZ or XYZ directions. Of particular interest to some were the miniature rotation stages.

Our Optical Tweezers demonstration videos are always attention grabbers, and a number of biophysicists and scientists from other disciplines stopped by to discuss how our cost-effective systems could help them in their projects. Researchers working within tight budgets were delighted to hear that Elliot Scientific laser trapping could be added to their existing (expensive) microscope without the need to buy a whole new instrument.
Elliot|Martock Gold Series Flexure Stages also proved of interest to many involved in light, optics and electronics due to their versatility. These world-renowned devices offer superior manipulation in three axes, and with minimal arcuate displacement they enable nanometre positioning for critical applications that include fiber launch and waveguide alignment. A comprehensive range of standard and customisable accessories are available too.
If you didn’t get to see us and our products at Photonics West, please visit our website or contact us for more information.

Elliot Scientific returns to stand B10 at Photonex in Coventry tomorrow and Thursday, offering the chance to experience the quality of our internationally renowned Elliot|Martock range first hand.
Exported the world over, our XYZ flexure stages are used for alignment and fiber launch in research and production environments, while our portfolio of miniature translation and rotary stages are often incorporated into OEM products for the optical and semiconductor industries.

For the first time at Photonex we will have items from the Siskiyou catalogue, including their sought after IXF mirror mounts so you can discover how they deliver their exceptional pointing stability in thermally demanding situations.

Also new for 2018 are high speed lasers from IPG Photonics. Operating in the pico and femtosecond regimes, these green and IR lasers are ideal for scientific and medical research.

Finally, life scientists love our Prizmatix ultra high power LED light sources, so we thought you might like to see them too.

Elliot Scientific is offering the DAli 3 Automatic Alignment Systems with a choice of MDE123 or MDE125 Elliot Gold™ Series piezo-actuated XYZ flexure stages.
Two systems are available. The E2323 comprises a model E2300 2-axes automated feedback piezo controller plus MDE123 Elliot Gold™ Series XYZ flexure stage fitted with piezo actuators providing 25 µm of piezo adjustment in each of the three axes, or the E2325 with 100 µm of piezo adjustment. Both systems also offer 2 mm of manual adjustment in each axis.
The Elliot Scientific DAli 3 is the latest version of our popular automated photonic device alignment system for the following applications:
- Fibre-to-laser diode alignment
- Fibre-to-waveguide alignment
- Fibre-to-fibre coupling
- Fibre array-to-device alignment
- Compensation for epoxy drift during pigtailing
- Compensation for drift during long-term characterisation
- Simultaneous alignment of input & output fibres (or arrays) to waveguide device
A typical E2300 DAli 3 system now consists of our new 3-channel E1100 piezo controller, the USB-equipped DAli 3 interface, and a customer-supplied PC or laptop for driving the easy to use software. Although designed to complement the piezo-driven versions of the Elliot Gold™ Series range of flexure stages, such as the MDE123 and MDE125 described above, it is also suited to other piezo devices working on 0 to 150 volts.
