Micro Laser Systems further expand range with Fixed Wavelength and Fused Silica collimators
The Micro Laser Systems‘ FC Series of standard collimators are designed specifically for single mode fibre, polarisation maintaining fibre, and fibre laser applications requiring a pure Gaussian beam. The company has further expanded its range by offering several new designs.
Fixed Wavelength
The FCX20 series is based on the standard FC20 Fibre Collimator but fixed at one wavelength. They offer a highly collimated, Gaussian beam with low wavefront error and are readily available in several popular wavelengths. The FCX20 comes with a 3 mm cable terminated with an FC or FC/APC connector.
Fused Silica
The FC5S and FC10S Fused Silica versions are of a multi-element design that delivers a highly collimated, Gaussian beam with low wavefront error. The lockable adjustable focus feature enables focusing a very tight spot at a great distance, or expansion of the beam to illuminate an area.
Micro Laser Systems is also able to manufacture custom collimators, being responsible for the whole project from design, through manufacturing, to final assembly and test. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
DAli 3 Automatic Alignment Systems available with MDE piezo-driven XYZ Positioners

Elliot Scientific is offering the DAli 3 Automatic Alignment Systems with a choice of MDE123 or MDE125 Elliot Gold™ Series piezo-actuated XYZ flexure stages.
Two systems are available. The E2323 comprises a model E2300 2-axes automated feedback piezo controller plus MDE123 Elliot Gold™ Series XYZ flexure stage fitted with piezo actuators providing 25 µm of piezo adjustment in each of the three axes, or the E2325 with 100 µm of piezo adjustment. Both systems also offer 2 mm of manual adjustment in each axis.
The Elliot Scientific DAli 3 is the latest version of our popular automated photonic device alignment system for the following applications:
- Fibre-to-laser diode alignment
- Fibre-to-waveguide alignment
- Fibre-to-fibre coupling
- Fibre array-to-device alignment
- Compensation for epoxy drift during pigtailing
- Compensation for drift during long-term characterisation
- Simultaneous alignment of input & output fibres (or arrays) to waveguide device
A typical E2300 DAli 3 system now consists of our new 3-channel E1100 piezo controller, the USB-equipped DAli 3 interface, and a customer-supplied PC or laptop for driving the easy to use software. Although designed to complement the piezo-driven versions of the Elliot Gold™ Series range of flexure stages, such as the MDE123 and MDE125 described above, it is also suited to other piezo devices working on 0 to 150 volts.

New Green Diode Laser for the more demanding application

“Micro Laser Systems has designed this laser to ensure source imperfection is a thing of the past”
Micro Laser Systems (µLS) has introduced a high stability green diode laser with diffraction limited performance for more demanding applications. These include: confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, fluorescence excitation, particle analysis, direct laser writing and metrology.
This new laser in the Lepton IV OEM series delivers a circular Gaussian beam with high output stability, has a low power requirement, and is built into a smaller package size when compared to typical Argon and diode pumped lasers. Output power is up to 40 mW and can be continuous wave, pulsed, or modulated, while the low wavefront error allows for the generation of micron and sub-micron spots sizes, or the production of a large clean beam for illumination.
The OEM units are available with or without temperature control – depending on your application – and are provided with numerous threaded mounting holes for secure installation.
For more information on this model, other wavelengths available in this series, or the extensive µLS range of collimators, free-space, and fibre-coupled lasers, then do contact us now.
