Elliot Scientific at QuAMP in Brighton next week

QuAMP – the International Conference on Quantum, Atomic, Molecular and Plasma Physics – is the première UK conference devoted to these areas of physics. Elliot Scientific is exhibiting at the event, which is hosted by the University of Sussex, from Wednesday, September 2nd. for two days.

QuAMP was founded in 2003 as a joint IOP/EPSRC initiative, and alternates between a Summer School format and an International Conference. This year it will be the latter.

Atom Optics & Spectroscopy benefit from Photodigm Laser Diodes

Photodigm specialises in manufacturing high power single spatial and longitudinal mode laser diodes. By incorporating their proprietary DBR – Distributed Bragg Reflector – technology within a monolithic architecture, Photodigm delivers unequalled performance for researchers requiring excellent spectral purity and superior beam quality with high output powers, whilst ensuring long term reliability and stability. Typical high-resolution spectroscopy applications include:

  • Atomic and Molecular Optical Physics
  • Cold Atom Spectroscopy & Precision Instrumentation, for example:Photodigm logo
    • Advanced gravimeters
    • Magnetometers
    • Atomic clocks
    • Gyroscopes
  • Raman Spectroscopy, Interferometry, Lidar and Metrology

With a narrow linewidth on the order of 1 MHz, and powers up to 300 mW, Photodigm DBR lasers are uniquely suited to numerous precision projects.

SPM-M Kit makes Atomic Force Microscopy affordable and easy

Mad City Labs offer the SPM-M Kit through Elliot Scientific for the construction of an affordable high performance, closed loop, scanning resonant probe microscope. By combining the MadPLL®  instrument package with Mad City Labs high resolution nanopositioning systems, the resultant integration of  hardware and  automated control means that you can concentrate on getting results, not tweaking parameters.

SPM-M Kit - DIY AFMApplications for the SPM-M Kit include:

  • Nanoscale characterisation
  • Nanoscale fabrication of
    • Optical antennas
    • Nano-optics
    • Semiconductors
    • Data storage

The versatile SPM-M Kit is ideal for research and teaching laboratories as it offers high performance at excellent value.

Elliot Scientific Sponsors QuAMP 2011: Clarendon Laboratory, Oxford

QuAMP 2011 takes place at the University of Oxford in September

QuAMP 2011 takes place at the University of Oxford in SeptemberMid-September sees the return of the biennial conference on Quantum, Atomic, Molecular and Plasma Physics. This year, the event runs from September 18th to 22nd at the University of Oxford Physics Department (Clarendon  Laboratory), and at Balliol College, Oxford.

Elliot Scientific will be attending as a sponsor on Monday, September 19th and we will be demonstrating a range of equipment that will be of interest to the delegates with backgrounds in atomic, molecular, optical and plasma physics.

The Clarendon Laboratory will also welcome visitors interested in physics who are not attending the conference.  So, if you are in the area, please drop by to say hello.

This international conference will cover a range of AMOP physics including:

  • Ultracold Matter
  • Quantum Information and Computing
  • Ultrafast Phenomena
  • Coherent Control
  • Metrology
  • Plasma Physics
  • Atomic & Molecular Interactions
